“Shaka, A Story of Aloha” had itʻs world premiere in Los Angeles at the VC Film Festival on opening night, May 2, 2024. Travelers to the event from Hawai’i included Producer/writer Steve Sue, Director Alexander Bocchieri, Cinematographer Kristle Backe, Camera operator Sara Brekke, Key Interviewee Kekela Miller, Associate Producers Bryson Chun and Rob Webb, and Extra Michael Sun Lee.
The evening began with a massive pre-event at Far Bar, opening entertainment by Aunty Geriʻs Hula Halau and conch shell blowing by Michael Sun Lee, the Screening, a Q&A featuring Alex, Steve and Aunty Kekela, and a post-party back at Far Bar.
