ID8 is an incubator of ideas for flourishing. We imagine, develop and launch initiatives that can grow into movements, programs, stories, tools and technologies—each different in form, but connected by a common purpose: empowering the world to flourish. Through storytelling, education, design and community, we cultivate ideas that take root, spread, and grow beyond us.

GLOBAL ALOHA empowers people, cultures and communities to flourish.
Global Aloha is a Hawaiʻi-born movement that puts positive values into action through storytelling, education, experiences and community programs.
What began with the documentary SHAKA, A Story of Aloha grew into Project Shaka, our Hawaiʻi regional program and proving ground for ideas in action. Project Shaka includes the Hawaiʻi’s Shaka license plate program, the establishment of the Shaka as Hawaiʻi’s official state gesture, Shaka Monuments program, educational programs and other community initiatives.
Today, Global Aloha carries those ideas forward through a growing family of programs and experiences, including our Aloha Spirit films—SHAKA, A Story of Aloha, THE 100TH, Seeds of Aloha and ʻONO, Foods of Aloha—along with Project Shaka, the Hawaiʻi Comedy Festival, education, community experiences and other initiatives that bring people together.
The goal isn’t to export Hawaiʻi’s culture. It’s to inspire people everywhere to discover and activate the positive values rooted in their own cultures, communities and languages.
Hawaiʻi provides the inspiration. The world makes it its own.
