Flourishing is about outcomes. People don’t wake up wanting ideas—they want possibilities to become real. They want progress. They want better lives, stronger businesses, thriving communities and a better world.
That’s why FLOURISH. is our mantra.
Ideas are where flourishing begins. ID8 nurtures ideas and puts them into action through storytelling, education, design and community programs—helping people, organizations, communities and cultures flourish.
Like Nike’s Just Do It, Apple’s Think Different and TED’s Ideas Worth Spreading, FLOURISH. is short, memorable and purposeful.

Many organizations define themselves by what they do—educate, conserve, mentor, feed, inspire or serve. Those activities matter, but they are means, not the ultimate outcome.
ID8 defines its vision by the condition we seek to create.
That condition is flourishing—people realizing their potential, ideas becoming reality, organizations thriving, and communities growing stronger.
Our programs and activities may evolve over time, but the outcome we seek remains the same:

“Empowers” reflects our belief in creating impact that multiplies through others and continues beyond our own work and lifetimes.
“The World” gives ID8 room to pursue impact across people, organizations, communities, cultures and causes without limiting us to a particular geography or field.
“Flourish” defines the universal outcome we seek. Aloha is one powerful idea within our program toolkit; flourishing is the broader result we hope those ideas create.
The mission is intentionally simple. While programs, technologies and methods may change, the purpose endures.
The more concise the mission, the longer it lasts.

LOCAL WISDOM. GLOBAL POSSIBILITY.
We believe flourishing looks different in different places. Our goal is not to export Hawaiʻi’s culture or ask other communities to adopt its traditions. Instead, we encourage people to discover, preserve and activate the values already rooted in their own cultures, communities and languages.
Hawaiʻi provides inspiration. Aloha Spirit provides an example. Around the world, other cultures have their own expressions of connection, compassion, reciprocity, service and care.
We believe those ideas can help people flourish wherever they are—when expressed authentically in ways that belong to them.
At ID8 (ide•ate), we believe ideas are where flourishing begins.
We seek people with big hearts, curious minds and the courage to imagine what’s possible. People willing to swing for the fences, tackle seemingly impossible challenges and turn good ideas into meaningful action.
We call them ideators.
Some bring ideas. Some bring expertise. Some bring resources. Some volunteer their time and talents. Some become partners who see greater possibilities in working together. And some are next-generation ideators who will carry the work far beyond us.
ID8 brings these people together to imagine, develop and launch ideas that can help people, organizations, communities, cultures and our planet flourish.
Some ideas become movements. Others become films, programs, experiences, tools or technologies. What matters isn’t the form an idea takes, but the difference it can make.
